Director Of Worship Ministries
SUMMARY
The Director of Worship Ministries of Crossway Church of San Fernando Valley is gifted and called to lead the Worship Ministry of Crossway toward the direction of Word-centered worship services under the supervision of the Preaching and Teaching Pastor and the other elders.
Reports to and helps execute Preaching and Teaching Pastor’s vision for local church

The Director of Worship Ministries must be a man who is gospel-centered and devoted to God, prayer, and the study of his Word. He must manage his household in a way that is in line with gospel and the Word of God. His priority will be on his own godliness while giving constant attention to the growth and development of his gifts and abilities as the Director of Worship Ministries. He maintains a lifestyle that is consistent with sound Christian principles and standards of conduct promulgated by the Word of God. He will be accountable to the elders of the church.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides strategic leadership of worship ministry in alignment with Crossway’s philosophy of ministry.
Oversee, plan, and execute ongoing worship ministries of the church, including Sunday Morning Worship Services, Special Services, and “All Church” events with worship components and oversight of the master schedule.
Serve as the lead worship leader.
Identify, nurture, shepherd, and train the worship teams (including worship leaders, instrumentalists, and vocalists) to lead with excellence unto the Lord.
Train and disciple ministry interns for worship ministry in conjunction with the pastors and elders.
Develop and manage the worship ministry annual ministry plan, budgets, and expenses.
Process honorariums for worship service guest speakers.
Manage and maintain the church’s CCLI license for music and media, ensuring that all ministry groups are utilizing these resources appropriately.
Participate in church staff meetings (as primary work schedule allows), leadership retreats, and staff development activities.
Other tasks or projects as assigned by mutual agreement with the elders.
PERSONAL GROWTH AND RECREATION
Spend appropriate time in personal reading, study, and prayer.
Attending seminars or conferences for the purpose of continuing education and skills training is encouraged.
Take one week of vacation each year
POSITION DETAILS
The Director of Worship Ministries is in full agreement with, will abide by, and will uphold Crossway’s Statement of Faith.
The Director of Worship Ministries has an understanding of and commitment to the mission, vision and values of Crossway Church SFV.
The Director of Worship Ministries will be a member of Crossway Church SFV.
Minimum requirement of a Bachelors Degree; preferably a Masters of Divinity or in the progress of pursuing one.
A growing, dynamic relationship with God with a heart for both God’s people and the lost.
Clearly demonstrated Christ-like integrity and character.
Calling to this area of church ministry.
Knowledge of and established experience in worship ministries.
Strong musical ability with an enthusiasm to develop others’ abilities.
Ability to develop and lead a team and foster a sense of community.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Weekly Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Hourly wage: to be determined
Sick pay: For calendar year, 1 hour sick pay for every 30 hours worked
One week paid vacation
One week paid ministry leave for participation in a ministry not related to worship ministry (e.g., Mt. Hermon staff, short-term missions)
No medical, dental, or retirement benefits are provided
